The heat is definitely on this week in the City of Toronto, where temperatures could range from 33°C to 44°C as the days progress.
Environment Canada has already issued a heat warning for the whole area in the next five days. According to the weather agency, the scorching weather could last until Thursday.
Besides decreasing the air quality, the persistent hot weather could also spark the onset of heatstroke and other similar health issues, especially among people with chronic illnesses, the elderly, pregnant women, and young kids.
Environment Canada strongly recommends drinking lots of water before even getting thirsty and, if feasible, avoid exposure to the sun during the days’ hottest parts, particularly noon and early afternoon.
