The provincial health officials of Alberta reported that an additional 629 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in the region as of Tuesday.
Of the 629 new test-positive cases, 258 of whom are currently confined in the hospital. Fifty-seven of the hospitalized individuals are treated in intensive care.
With the latest figures, the number of Albertans infected with COVID-19 is now at 7,931.
In addition to the new COVID-19 cases, a total of seven fatalities was also documented. Thus, 2,355 Alberta residents have already succumbed to the virus since the pandemic began.
All in all, 245,598 Albertans have tested positive for COVID-19 throughout the pandemic, where 235,312 have already recovered.
