Toronto Blue Jays Marcus Semien and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have set the bar even higher as to home run records for this season in the American League.
During their match with the New York Yankees on Monday, Vladdy surpassed his 40th home run hit, while the Blue Jays shortstop Semien came up with a couple of long balls of his own. This gives Semien a total of 37 home runs for the season.
Dominican-Canadian Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the youngest Blue Jays squad member to knock 40 home runs in a single season. Moreover, the 22-year old is also the 10th player in the Toronto Blue Jays club history to go beyond the 40 home run threshold.
Vladdy joins Shawn Green, Tony Batista, Jesse Barfield, Carlos Delgado, and George Bell in the list of the youngest 40-home run players in Blue Jays history after his performance against the Yankees.
