Due to the new COVID-19 health measures issued by the provincial government, the Edmonton Comic Expo’s October event has been canceled and will be rescheduled for 2022. The expo was supposed to be held from October 1 to October 3.
According to their social media post, the 2021 Edmonton Comics & Entertainment Expo organizers decided to cancel the event because of the new COVID-19 health measures recently issued by provincial officials.
Besides announcing a state of public health emergency on Wednesday, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney also revealed a new COVID-19 health program that requires individuals to present either a negative COVID-19 test or a proof of vaccination to access business and participate in social events.
The organizers of the 2021 Edmonton Comics & Entertainment Expo informed those who have already bought tickets to the event to ask for a refund or transfer the same for next year.
“Fandom unites us,” the 2021 Edmonton Comics & Entertainment Expo organizers related in their post. “Let’s stick together as a community, stay safe, and look after each other. We’ll see you in 2022.”
