The Toronto Police Service’s announcement on Tuesday regarding the mandatory vaccination of its members received lots of backlash from the union representing the workers of the force.
According to a statement released by the Toronto Police Association (TPA), the union finds the mandatory vaccination reprehensible.
The TPA also highlighted the apparent lack of “alternative options” for union members who either don’t want to disclose their vaccination status or don’t want to get COVID-19 vaccine shots.
Chief James Ramer of the Toronto Police Service announced last Tuesday that the said mandatory vaccination is aimed at upholding the “safety of our members, our workplaces and the public.”
“Our members will be required to be fully vaccinated to protect each other and the communities we serve,” Ramer added.
