Critical Care Physician Questions the US Government’s Seemingly Deliberate Disregard of Ivermectin for COVID-19 Treatment Despite Its Proven Efficacy.

Dr. Pierre Kory appeared before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to ask the policymakers to include Ivermectin in the list of drugs used to treat COVID-19. The critical care physician and pulmonologist at Aurora St Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, related before the senate committee that he was there to advocate for the use of Ivermectin in this time of the pandemic.

He added that it baffles him why this drug is still being overlooked by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), despite the “already expansive and still rapidly emerging medical evidence” of the drug’s efficacy on treating COVID-19.

Kory described Ivermectin as “miraculous” in treating patients infected with the virus. He also explained that he doesn’t have the habit of using the term lightly. The critical care physician and pulmonologist stressed that he is pushing his recommendation for Ivermectin based on “mountains” of scientific data that has emerged in the past few months.

“People are dying at unacceptable and untold rates,” Kory said in the Senate hearing. “By the time they get to the ICU, it is nearly impossible to save most patients.” He pointed out that it is heartbreaking to see persons infected with COVID-19 so helpless. “They simply cannot breathe,” the critical care physician and pulmonologist added.

Kory stressed that he and his group, the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), are pushing for Ivermectin to be included in the “recommended” list of medicines utilized for the treatment of the virus. He argued that Ivermectin is much more effective than Remdesivir, which is much more expensive and far less supportive evidence than the former.

“Why can’t it happen for Ivermectin given this level of evidence?” Kony pleaded. “We are in a pandemic. We are at war. Stop pretending this is peacetime where we are conducting business as usual.” He also urged the NIH to “rapidly review the data” and make a recommendation as soon as possible.

Despite Ivermectin’s significant therapeutic benefits regarding curbing the hyper-inflammatory phase of COVID and even its efficacy in helping countless people recover from the critical stage of the virus, the NIH, the CDC, and the FDA all seem to take no notice. Ivermectin is ridiculed as “horse medicine” by most medical professionals allied with the US government.

“I don’t know how much longer I can do this,” Kory shared. He then shared why the policymakers are always trying to look for the “best solution” when it is already in front of their noses. “The leadership of our governmental health care agencies has a great responsibility here.

Kory warned that if those responsible for establishing national health care policies won’t heed the American people’s cry for answers, it’s highly likely that all of the United States will be in trouble. “If we do nothing, the present trend will continue,” he cautioned. “There is a critical need to inform health care providers in this country and the world.”

Unfortunately, akin with other medical experts who did not go along with the US government’s “strategy” concerning the fight against the pandemic, Dr. Pierre Kory was shortly tagged as another spreader of “COVID-19 misinformation” after appearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
