On Monday, the province of Alberta logged 3,056 new COVID-19 cases all over the region. These numbers are the total of the test-positive cases documented since August 27.
According to a report released by the provincial health officials, 1,231 cases were recorded on Friday, while 960 and 865 test-positive cases were monitored on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Of the new COVID-19 cases in Alberta, 401 individuals are now under hospital care, 98 of whom are being attended to in the intensive care unit. Moreover, 465 new variant cases have also been recorded in the province.
There are also seven additional deaths linked to COVID-19 in the region, which brings 2,371 fatalities in Alberta since the pandemic began.
As of date, there are presently 11,426 active COVID-19 cases in the province. A total of 252,010 individuals have already been infected with the virus, where 238,213 have fully recovered.
The province of Alberta has also administered 5,551,932 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as of August 29.
