The Canadian national football squad snagged a draw against the Americans in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match in Nashville, Tennessee.
With a score of 1-1, last Sunday’s draw helped the Canada MNT seize another point for the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. Cyle Larin scored the tying goal in the 62nd minute of the game, with Alphonso Davies providing the crucial assist.
On September 2, the Canadian football team also scored a draw against Honduras with 1-1. Notably, Team Honduras accused there was “football espionage” when a drone suddenly appeared out of nowhere when they were practicing their plays at the BMO Field days before the game.
Their next match is going to be against El Salvador at Toronto’s BMO Field on Wednesday night. Team Canada has to be in the top three rankings in the qualifying tournament for a guaranteed spot in the World Cup.
The Canadian football team will face off again with the American squad on January 30, 2022. While the official venue still isn’t known, it will be on Team Canada’s home turf.
