    BC health officials: 663 new COVID-19 cases recorded before the weekend

    On Friday, BC health officials disclosed that there are 663 new COVID-19 test-positive cases. As a result, the total number of cases registered in the province now stands at 158,919.

    Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said in a written statement that there are 6,345 active COVID-19 cases in the BC province.

    Regarding the active cases, 129 people are hospitalized, where 59 of them are being treated in intensive care. The rest of the 663 new test-positive COVID-19 cases are in their homes in self-quarantine.

    Presently, 83.0 percent of all COVID-19 vaccination recipients aged 12 and over have gotten their first dose. Moreover, 7,288,691 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Pfizer-BioNTech were already given out in the BC province in total.
